Accessibility Compliance Notice

Updated annually.

Skycore is committed to accessibility. It is a priority of ours to make sure that the software we develop complies with ADA standards. Our team regularly works to ensure that when we add new content to the website or develop features to our software it is evaluated for compliance.

Our web-based application software and mobile app have been designed so that the content is accessible to a wide range of people with disabilities such as blindness and low vision, deafness and hearing loss, learning disabilities, cognitive limitations, limited movement, speech disabilities, photo-sensitivity, and combinations of these.

We are focused on the continuous improvement of our software. We will keep adding additional accessibility features as the product evolves and as interpretations of accessibility guidelines change. We are dedicated to providing our customers with the best user experience possible by making sure that our customers and their customers have the required access to the features we offer.

Skycore is documenting the accessibility status of each product using the Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) to represent the degree of conformance to various accessibility standards and guidelines, including Section 508, WCAG 1.0, and WCAG 2.0. These documents are available by request for paying institutional customers. We will share the VPAT with potential institutional customers on a case by case basis to make assessments regarding the extent of accessibility options in our products and services.

Q: Is Skycore ADA or DDA compliant?

A: The U.S. Americans with Disabilities Act, and the U.K. Disability Discrimination Act, require businesses and institutions to provide ‘reasonable accommodation’ for the disabled or not put disabled people at a ‘substantial disadvantage’ compared to others. It is the responsibility of each business and institution to adhere to their countries laws, by providing an appropriate environment, facilities, tools, adjustments, etc. Our products have accessibility features that assist our customers in achieving compliance with the ADA or DDA. Our products are coded to meet the standards of WCAG 1.0 priority 2 and some are coded to meet the standards of WCAG 2.0 Level AA depending on if the product is Web based or an Application . Not all functional use cases can be fully ADA compliant due to the nature of the application so the level of compliance will depend on each institutions configuration. Any exceptions to compliance are documented in the applicable VPAT.

Q: Will an ADA compliance checkers automate compliance testing?

A: There are a variety of testing tools on the market, but no single evaluation tool yet provides a totally automated solution. Accessibility testing require a measure of human inspection and judgment. Automated tools often check for specific coding solutions, and upon not finding that specific code, will report an error. That does not necessarily mean that the product being evaluated fails to meet the standard.

Q: Are Skycore products certified with assistive technology such as JAWS?

A: We do not certify our products to run with any particular assistive technology or version. We use industry standard practices that assistive technology should support.

Q: How should we report new “accessibility bugs”?

A: Unexpected behaviors can occur due to the complexity of accessibility solutions. We cannot detect all anomalies that may occur when our products interact with accessibility technology prior to software releases. If these behaviors or anomalies are identified and reported to us, we will develop fixes in accordance with standard industry practices.

Q: How do I interact with Support if I am disabled?

A: Skycore Support offers two communication methods: Email Support or Telephone support.
