SHORTCODES
The Basics
Enterprises & brands need to register for a shortcode to send and receive mobile messages. Both SMS and MMS are delivered on the same shortcode. You can upgrade your SMS shortcode to support MMS if your aggregator supports it. You can also transfer your shortcode to an aggregator that supports MMS. Many enterprises share their existing shortcode connectivity and traffic between multiple service providers to meet ALL of their messaging needs.
The Process
We can:
- Provision a new Shortcode that is MMS enabled.
- Transfer your existing Shortcode and enable it for MMS.
- MMS enable your existing Shortcode.
New SMS/MMS Shortcode
- We will provision one for you. It takes 8-10 weeks to go live with all tier 1 US carriers with MMS.
Transfer or Share my current Shortcode
We need to determine:
- Is your current shortcode Rich Media (MMS) approved?
- If not, we file an MMS campaign brief to the carriers.
- Is your aggregator MMS enabled?
- If not, we will have to move your shortcode to an aggregator who does support MMS.
